My Background

I am a highly motivated and self-disciplined person, who believes in the highest standards of excellence with a wealth of experience in the Engineering Industry, including proficiency in the production of aerospace and marine components.

Thriving on challenges, I am technically orientated and competent in the field of Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Engineering. My career path to date has given me the opportunity of establishing myself as professional, confident individual with excellent interpersonal skills, a good team player but also works on own initiative keeping a cool and focused head under pressure.

I am accomplished, with a flexible approach and an eye for detail. I undertook an apprenticeship with British Aerospace at Hurn, which involved attending Poole Technical College to attain qualifications in Engineering and following completion of my training I was employed as a detailed fitter in a small precision assembly unit until the closure of the site in 1984.  During the period that followed I have worked for various prestigious maritime companies within the United Kingdom and Europe responsible for the design and manufacturing of luxury yachts.

My varied career has given me the opportunity to work in most aspects of welding, milling, turning, spraying, sheet metal work, tool making and laminating.  I have attained knowledge of hydraulic and electrical control systems interpreting drawings and plans.  More recently I have accomplished skills in computing, including Auto CAD, forklift truck operating, electrical and mechanical inspection.
